WHO WE ARE
Charlotte felt impressed after retirement from a thirty-year career teaching Communication at Jefferson Community and Technical College, to speak up for her faith in Christ.
As a preacher's daughter, she admits that speaking for Christ is what she was ultimately meant to do.
She holds a Masters degree in Speech and Theatre from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Louisville.
In her youth, she started out as a weather anchor for WBKO in Bowling Green, Kentucky. When she realized that she did not want to become a 'bona fide' meteorologist, she auditioned and received a scholarship to the University of Louisville's acting program.
This three-year program was a great learning experience. She pursued an acting career as a professional on the regional level for a few years.
She also started her own theatre company with fellow graduates from the University of Louisville. They performed under the name of Pleiades at the Mex Theatre at the Kentucky Center for the Arts for ten years.
Yet again, she realized that she wanted to be more settled in her life, so she started teaching college.
Charlotte Hammett Hubrich was an Associate Professor of Communication-Interpersonal Communication, Persuasion, and Public Speaking for thirty years. In addition to teaching at JCTC, she also served as adjunct faculty at Spalding University and Bellarmine University.
While teaching, Charlotte worked with many business organizations to help them with more effective communication.
After all this talking, she likes to say that she found her real home at the college for a long time. It is Charlotte Hammett Hubrich 's prayer that she helped many students build better self-esteem through the course in Interpersonal Communication.
As people begin to think better of themselves, she believes that they are then better able to extend good will to others.
With all this in mind, and with her awareness that now she can add her faith piece to her work, she is trying to follow the still small voice which said. "You have talked on stage, you have talked to businesses, you have talked in college, now talk for Me."
Charlotte Hammett Hubrich is delighted to offer talks and courses to continue her work by exploring Communication strategies, personal narrative, and the promises of God's love.
